A design system is infrastructure. Like good engineering infrastructure, it is invisible when it works and painful when it is absent. Designers work faster because decisions have already been made at the system level. Developers ship faster because every component has a specification. Product stays visually consistent as it grows because there is a single source of truth.
Design systems are not always the right starting point. For very early-stage products, a system can be premature. We will be honest about whether you need one now or whether a simpler approach makes more sense for your current stage.
At minimum: tokens, core UI components (buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, typography), and documentation. Extended systems include data visualisation, complex table components, and pattern documentation.
Our design system work is Figma-first. We do not build coded component libraries by default, but we can connect with your engineers on token translation to CSS custom properties or a specific framework.
